Can anyone tell me the scope of basis in near future as sap is mainly moving towards automation.

Basis will always have scope.... Even if the things are getting automated... What if the automation gives error.. !! U always need background info...
any customer having any number of modules..BASIS will never be erased out..atlast whom will all the functional guys run to and dump all their problems..
almost all companies use sap these days and sap basis is like the father of it.. basic linux knowledge is an added advantage. Basis actually keeps coming up with newer technologies ... Now we have HANA that's leading the market. In future there might be something else. In Basis, you will always need to keep upgrading your skills.
