Difference between Account Group and Chart of Accounts

May I know that what is the difference between account group and chart of accounts?

Account Group is the group of Accounts used to determine the G/L accounts to which posting is being made. It is in Master Data, Customer Master data and vendor Master record. It controls the screen layout and number ranges.
Chart of Accounts is the list of G/l acccounts which is assigned to company code via chart of accounts. It is linked to Company code in automatic account determination.
