Updated May 18, 2018

What exactly happens when 711 movement type is used to increase stock at a storage location? What are the pricing impacts in this case?

Thanks

711 is used to decrease stock and 712 is used to increase stock. Of course, it will impact the total stock that you physically have on hand. Hence, that will affect the total value of stock which is now shown on system.

Hi, In STANDARD SAP, movement types 711 to 718 are the result in IM of stock adjustments done in the Warehouse Management module. When the total stock in WM is changed, SAP sends the appropriate adjustment to the stock in IM via these movement codes depending on the stock type and whether there is an increase or decrease in stock quantity - Unrestricted 711 & 712 / QI 713 & 714 / Returns 715 & 716 / Blocked 717& 718. Valuation of the movement is at standard if using standard costing.

This movement support the business process in Warehouse called Cycle counting. As part of this process warehouse user needs to ensure physical inventory sitting in the Warehouse match with the SAP Inventory for the given plant/Storage location. In the event when its not matching, they should be using this movement type to adjust the Inventory stock in SAP match with the physical stock in Warehousing. Impact of this Inventory variation is charge to the P/L Account at Std cost or Moving Average price whatever the price that is being use to value your inventory.

The effect on stock value depends on whether you are using standard cost or
    moving average price.

This movement is generally used for temporary stock adjustment.
Example.- COGi items are cleared thru this movement.

Otherwise this movement is not acceptable by the auditors.

I have in the same material document, for the same material and the same quantity both movement types 711 & 712

I can see in MIGO in the MM document that the stock has been moved from the
WM storage type 999 differencies. What sense has this movement?
Why one movement and reverese movement has been done in one MM document?
We have quite a lot of such documents ...
