Very bad experience in WIPRO TECHNOLOGIES

Updated Jun 26, 2018

I have joined in WIPRO as a campus recruit after completing my master’s degree. Before joining this very company I thought of having a good career and learning which turned out worst phase in my life afterwards. I have heard lot about WIPRO’s bad policies from my friends and thought that they would not play a major role as long as I work better.

They sent us to an induction program which is of two and half months where they kept us with B.tech guys and taught us the same very basic concepts which we learned in our M.tech. The bad part of this training is that they treated same as Btech guys and taught us the same which is of waste. I am highlighting this point because a lot of people think that WIPRO has some good training programs.

Related: Life After Working in Wipro Technologies

After training I have to report to the group head there. Here my job is to ask them for giving us good project. I was warming the bench for 4 months and finally they approached me and gave me a project. Here I have to mention the problem of “billability” an employee who is working under a project will get the billable amount otherwise some amount will be deducted from his promised salary. So an employee in WIPRO has to search for projects and also search for a good project manager to get his work, so pathetic when considering you are recruited for doing work.

During that time we have little assistance from the senior experienced guys. Worse thing is that we do not have project lead or module lead and all the team has to work under a project manager. The work we have done is so amateur that after wards that project got escalated and the work done by most of the people in my team has to be done again. The employee assessment we have received there is of no use and to tell you the management feels pride of their assessment policies which is of no use in real time experience.

The pay structure there is so horrible compared to other companies. The pay hikes I got were so less even though I got good rating. Then I started realizing the mess I was in there. Wipro is surviving just by hiring cheap labor and doing low tech projects. I still wonder after resigning from WIPRO how those working for 10 to 15 years are doing their jobs in that mess.

The learning experience there is worse part of my experience they haven’t assessed any of our batch and to tell you after completing each and every project an employee has to go and search for projects. Every year I have to feel bad when I got hike and I compare it with my friends in other companies even though I have worked hard.

The management there is the worst thing happened to me. Those PM’s don’t care about the employee satisfaction and they will treat you like a coolie of a monthly salary. There are lot of F*****g policies there in wipro. There is one policy by which you have to spend 9 and half hours every day even though you are a bench warmer. In the company you will see lot of slogans like spirit and Integrity which I doubt even those group heads or PM’s know what it is, they just act like bureaucrats who don’t care damn about employees.

I suggest those who are about to join are planning to join this very company to think 100 times before joining as there are lot of employees like me around.

What the above person mentioned is 100% true. In wipro there is no ethics and proper work culture. Dirty politics played all around. Wipro is always in the mood of eliminating people with some crap policies, one of them being the stupid, f****ng training tests.

I just recently left Wipro as a Senior Account Manager managing one of its largest clients. I had to leave Wipro because I am not comfortable with its labor practices. Wipro is a sweat shop for its US H1B employees and I felt horrible for their treatment. Dont work at Wipro and dont hire them. If you do, you are supporting exploitation and modern day slavery.

The wipro management is more than indian poiltics in which two types of people are working. Upper class management and dalit people. we are the dalit people who treats like a untouchables(called "wipjan" like harijan).

Management only thinks about there money,Power and behave likes US prez who visits daily to india and expects a lot from employees and in return will give a solid fundas and idiotic policies. No matter peopled cleared tough and internationally renowned certification they have to clear USF which is made for not clearing.

Bands and appraisal ratings splited and keeps on spliting exponentially in future. B2 to B3 and B4 then B5 which they think done a gud job. Its like a bone hanging to a tied dog which expects to get in future.

Its worth to work in a small co rather then work in wipro.

Wipro are killing the market... Just in for the quick buck. Someone stop them!! They seem to have no honour and think too much about money rather than service....

I am currently working for Wipro Infotech.and I find the work atmosphere and policies here so disgusting that I am planning to leave the job. I am so frustrated that I am ready to forfeit my bond money of Rs 75000.
1 advice to all those who read this-do not join wipro.

    Hello All,

Similar is the scenario with TCS hyderabad, similar practices are being followed there also. To add more woes, there is a RMG group which is the filth of TCS. HR ,I wonder, what are they being paid for?

Wipro suck! - I still work for them (UK)and they deduct salary if you don't fill in the internal time sheet in time (sometimes I miss a day that I thought I already filled in and bam! loss of pay - No reversal - I am very detatched from every aspect of the management structure and I am going to get the hell out!

The above comments are perfectly right. They(wipro) don't hire B.E,B.Tech,M.tech,M.E guys because they have to pay more compared to bsc,bca,bcom,bbm,....etc. Killing the dreams of a job seeker. one of the worst company. This is the first company in my list to which i will never work.

    Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I understand your aggravation. Its common in any organization; however some one commented on HR. I would like you to inform you that HR is not God even he/she is an employee. If HR aligns for the employees. The next second he will be killed, girls will escape by there beauty and aligning to the ECO system of the organization.

I am being an HR Head i feel ashamed of this profession. All the HR heads and CEO's needs to be sacked if the fucking they don't understand the value of employees.

I am with wipro for last 3 years , but i never feel that my carrier is going to ruine.. it depends on you , how you handle your work and carrier. every org.. has almost same polices. i read so many comment above in this page, i think they are depressed by them self. and blaming on wipro.. look at yourself what ever you are today , its only you who is responsible for your situation.

I am very happy to work with wipro.. because its only me who makes my day ....

I am 6-year experience person, joined Wipro Tech one year back. What mentioned in blog is 101% true.

Management is rubbish and will harras you, if you will be in free pool. If you will get less than 50% billing per Qtr, you will not get single penny from your Qtrly variable payment.

UCF exam clearing is manadatory to get good appraisal(10%)

  • 08 May 2014 6:19 am Guest

Yes it is a horrible company, management is so bad. There is no facilities for employes,You have to clear  exams to be eligible for appriasal, even you work hard like an donky. If you dont clear the exam(UCF) this as* ho*e company will tell you to give resign. There is a lot of politics inside this company.

Even for experience letter you have to do so many things.

I didnt expect that from wipro a popular company of india .

UCF is very worst thing implemented in wipro.Wipro is making life of employes who work hard for the company Horrible.

  • 09 Jul 2014 3:16 pm Guest

Please do not join Wipro over experience profile or more tha 10+ yrs ..I am 10+ and now almost end up my carrer here ..joined 3. yrs back ..Got Onsite after struggling project and then Management tagged me to wrong practice intentionally and was not able to attempt ucf in my own technology ..now its 2 yrs backlog on system and number of esclations but no one listen as they are dumb and deaf ....Management put u  in PIP(performance inprovemnt plan) .and given last chance to clear ucf else would be position to leave after Oct ..though apprisal already degarded with rating 2out of 5 and almost end up with carrer here even though pass ucf ..no account will sustain u as project is going to close in august so i have started  looking outside...

See you take any MNC who has 100000+ employees. They cant guarantee the hapiness of every individual employer. I know some people have their hard luck either they are in wipro or TCS or cogni or any MNC. But some people who got stuck up beacuse of their own acts..They feel irritated when people around him/her grow so they start blaming the company. UCF from wipro, I know does not play any vital role for project development, but for people who have commented above, i fyou work so hard for a year, why can't you just clear an objective exam, that too in four attempts, in an entire year. you cant complain the management all the times. if you are so brilliant not ready to take up any exams then go apply google or microsoft. It was you who joined wipro..Wipro did not go at your place abd begged to join. Regarding compensation i dont know about the senior people but I can assure you that It is the highest paying company for freshers among all its competitors. Regarding work timings and culture, those who spend 9.30 hours are the biggest fools.Yes i do agree that its mandatory to sit around 8 hours a day. And if you do your work properly you will feel short of time also in that 8 hours. So overall Wipro is a good company to start your career with.

Plus I feel pity for the Mtech guy who joined wipro and had to go under an induction programme for 2.5 months with Btech people. I first want to ask him..why did he do mtech ? LOL :P

  • 21 Aug 2014 5:58 pm Guest

Please do not join in wipro as I'm fed up here already. The UCF exam is very worst stuff and those who cleared already, have to take the same level and same exam again. Wipro recently announced this. What does the management think about the employees here, i really don't understand (are the employees are dogs??). If you're not clearing this exam, then it will be bad rating eventhough you're best performer in the project or best in organization.

Better join in TCS, IBM or Accenture....etc. Atleast you will not be disturbed by so called stupid exams....

  • 04 Mar 2015 8:57 pm Guest

Seriously I am also getting suffered from the first day of joining. Almost everyday I think why did I chose Wipro... Guys, help me to shift somewhere else. I can send my resume.

  • 23 Apr 2015 12:06 am Guest

Though ...we work with dedication and fix most of the high priority issues, extend shifts ...finally the crap UCF will come and stand in front of the appraisal ...they say if you dont clear this exam you will not get the rating no increment and no hike ....finally what is the use of all the efforts, pain, pressure, time and happiness we gave.....? i hate this assessment UCF ....shit in the crap...!

Say what you want finally from the employeee….you expect our salary also to be paid back …!

The worst company with worst policies. The bullshit trp,frp...... the people are screwed up during their exams ... specially if they are nen dep. they should work on learning process rather than just making people muggigup dumbs...

My onsite opportunity is stuck with UCF. Manager is not ready to send me unless I clear it though client asked for my travel.

  • 25 May 2016 2:32 am Guest

Wipro Package is very worst. I would call it as "WASIAN PARADISE". There are few DM's who are really unqualified to be a developer itself. But that particular person will be a master in politics. Favouritism is always there. If you are very much close to any DM's you will get onsite for sure irrespective of Technology.

It Is  true that for your own shortcomings you will accuse others.

You will get oumost exposure to the real world of IT  at Wipro and overall developement and there are programs and Trainings which can really transform you .

I would not say Wipro is great company but it is best among the whole lot in India when it comes to compensation and Overall growth .

HR is bad every where and different organizations frame policies looking at bigger picture where freshers like you are not exposed to or you do not ahve maturity  to understand that  especially  when the Organization size grows beyond 180 K employess.

The Mantra is  for fster growth do not work for a same company for more than 4 o 5 years keep moving that way you can grow professionally and financially.

    All the Best
