Does Oracle (11g) have an equivalent of the Teradata function translate_chk() ?
In teradata translate_chk() is used to identify characters which could / could not be translated from one character-set to another. For e.g.
TRANSLATE_CHK(LAST_NAME USING LATIN_TO_UNICODE) = 0;
will list all characters in LAST_NAME that could be translated from Latin to Unicode without any issues. On the other hand,
TRANSLATE_CHK(LAST_NAME USING LATIN_TO_UNICODE) <> 0;
will display all characters in LAST_NAME which could not be translated.
