JDBC Channel Characterset: How to Set Characterset Field?
Stechies

Suppose! You are using JDBC Channel in SAP to make a better communication. You are trying to insert Chinese characters in the table. You are using ECC to Oracle DB (Data Base). The chacterset on ECC system is Unicode and at Oracle DB the charcterset is WE8ISO8859P1. But you are unable to insert Chinese characters in the table.

Now, you check everything like you had check the JDBC drivers, JDBC adapter used for JDBC channel communication. But, the problem is still same means unsolved means you are still unable to insert the Chinese characters in the table. You found that there is no any field available to set characterset in JBDC receiver channel and now trying to looking for any standard module which will give a good solution to your problem.

After so much hard work to set this problem you also make some more addition in your coding too but still disappointed. But, no need to be so much disappointed because it’s not any serious problem as it will get solve very easily. You can get rid of this problem by doing a simple step that is given below:-

Solution: - You can solve this issue just only by creating a middle ware database. You have to create middle ware data base which is using the same characterset with PI (Process Integration). By creating it you will be able to transfer the encoding when trying to read 3rd party DB (Data Base) from the system.

Now, you will be able to insert Chinesecharacters in the table.
