May I know that what is the meaning of the independent data in versions before 7.8 and which structures replace it in the versions starting with 7.8?
Kindly share your valuable views here.
Independent data contains the configuration information of all installed software and all installed database instances. It accommodates the interprocess communication objects and run time files of the MaxDB processes. The installed MaxDB/liveCache databases also have per default their working directories inside the independent data directory.
Starting with version 7.8 the independent data contains only the global registration information and global run time objects. Each isolated software part has its own data directory (private data) where the configuration information is stored. The protocols of the isolated communication server processes (X server) and DBM servers are also stored in there as well as working directories of the isolated databases. Check section 7 for more information regarding private data path.
