PS: Setting up Cost Planning on a monthly basis.

Hey to all you techies,

Got a question for you, currently I'm using CJ40 to set up my Cost Planning per budget.

The issue I'm having is, I can either set it up at an overall timeframe or an annual timeframe. What would be ideal is a monthly/periodic option.

Does anyone know how I could do that. When I run the Plan Vs Actual Reports, I do see the reports are set up to incorporate periodic cost planning. However I am unable to figure it out in SAP.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Hi

In CJ40, at the annual planning page, goto 'cost element planning' button. In cost element planning screen, there is period screen button.

Hi Kai,

Try planning on Cost Elements, you can plan per month. Use transaction CJR2.

cost planning methods:

WBS cost plannnning
1. Hierarchy cost planning:CJ40: neither cost element, neither period based ( no jan to dec planning)
2. detailed cost planning: CJR2cost element and period based

so, if you need period based, go for detailed cost planning, in CJR2

Hi Kai,

Please see first if the Configuration of your PS Planning allows you to do Cost Element Planning. A Cost Element group should be indicated since these are the only Cost Elements allowed to be Cost Planned.
