SAP Solution Manager in Implementation
The tutorial covers all the different project phases supported by the Solution Manager. It starts with the project Preparation, which is followed  by the Business Blueprint phase, where the Business Process Repository, the CRM 5.0 content and the scoping of individual scenarios are described in detail. Finally it shows the supported project activities in the Realization phase.

You get access to the different project phases via the user menu of the SAP Solution Manager.
All central administrative tasks relevant for the project are carried out in the project administration
transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN.

Please double-click this transaction.

 

SAP Solution Manager: Project Administration
In this screen you can create a new project by clicking on the appropriate button on the upper left part.
There are different project types. In an implement project you will be able to select predefined templates
provided by SAP or its partners.
In templates projects, independently of the template project in which it was created. Template projects
are ideal for enterprises carrying out a global rollout. Here we set up an Implementation Project.

Please scroll down and type in the project name, e.g. CRM50_DEMO and press “Enter”.

 

 



SAP Solution Manager: Change Project
On the tab General Data a project name, a person in charge and the project language should be maintained.
Additionally, you can defined dates and status for your project.

On the scope tab you can select a roadmap for your implementation project. It is possible to choose
between the different roadmaps. The Implementation Roadmap provides the methodological framework
for the steps required in the implementation of a mySAP solution. It covers, among other things, the
necessary project management, the configuration of business processes, as well as test procedures,
and training concepts.

The Solution Management Roadmap covers the technical aspects, the Global Template Roadmap is
used for global rollouts and with the Upgrade Roadmap you can manage upgrade projects.

In the Template Selection section you can pick preconfigured scenarios (Best Practices). The preconfigured scenarios will be transferred  to the blueprinting phase,
but their remodeling is then still possible.

In the Industry Selection section you can select industries for the project scope. If an industry is selected here, in the
blueprinting phase the industry-specific scenarios will be highlighted.

It is possible to maintain the system landscape in this step. If it is maintained here, in the blueprinting
phase the relevant scenarios will be highlighted.
In this tutorial we will maintained the system landscape for your project later.
The systems, server and database have to be maintained via transaction SMSY.

Furthermore you should determine the project team members on the next tab. Choosing the User Administration button,
you can select predefined roles for your team members with different authorizations.

Additionally, partner data can be maintained for further project administration.

On the next step you can determine the time schedule for your project. The milestones may be taken over from the roadmap or entered manually.

To handle the different organizational units involved in your project, you can maintain their data, including function, country and time zone.

On the tab project Standards you have the possibility to define your own project status values. Keywords for further
classification of assigned documents can be maintained. Additionally, you can determine your own document types.

There is also a project template delivered with a bundle of status values, keywords and documentation types.
This project template can be modified according to the project requirements.

The status values can be assigned later on to individual process steps. This allows an enhanced project administration and reporting about the overall progress.

In this section you can change the visibility of tabs. This will affect the blueprinting and configuration phase (transactions SOLAR01 and SOLAR02).

In the Business Blueprint transaction you initially define your customer- specific solution or project scope and the business and technical requirements.

The Business Blueprint is the prerequisite for the Realization phase in which you configure and test your business scenarios and processes. Once you have finished the scope of scenarios and processes you can generate a Business Blueprint containing your individual project documentation.

The structure will then be passed to the following Realization phase.
Assignments to the chosen scenarios, processes or process steps in the scope are also passed to the following phases.

Please double-click on the transaction SOLAR01 to access the Business Blueprint phase.

In the Business Blueprint transaction you get a blank structure.

You can now add some predefined scenarios from the Business Process Reporting to your scope. The Business Process
Reporting is a detailed collection of numerous standard scenarios for all SAP Solutions. These scenarios are associated to useful
configuration and implementation information that enables a fast and smooth realization.

To enter the Business Process Repository please select the structure element Business Scenarios.

Then please choose the structure tab on the right side of the screen.
Position the cursor in the first line and press F4 to access the Business Process Repository.

In the following popup, the input help for the Business Process Repository, please choose the solution according to your
implementation project, in your case mySAP CRM.
If an industry has been selected in transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN, this filter can be deactivated with the Button “Industries: Inactive”.

By clicking the arrow you can display the content further.

Now you see the key Capabilities of my SAP CRM. Currently there are more than 50 predefined mySAP CRM scenarios
with then 190 detailed processes that will be shipped to the customer.

The standard scenarios with information provided by experienced consultants will significantly shorten the implementation
duration and can still be modified later according to each single project requirement.

Please choose Enterprise Marketing to select the scenarios in your scope.

On this level you can see all the Enterprise Marketing scenarios. Additionally you have to choose the relevant scenarios versions.

Please scroll down and choose the scenario campaign Management. Copy it to your project and click the button with the
green check in the lower part of the popup.

In this step the system proposes the logical components for your scenario. If you confirm the proposal, this information will be copied to your project and is visible via transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN, tab system Landscape.
If you want to maintain the system landscape manually in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN, you can choose “Cancel”.

Please scroll down and leave the Business Process Reposting by clicking the button with the green check in the lower part of the popup.

In a final step you have to copy your selected scenarios to your structure on the right side.

Please press the “save” button in the toolbar and your structure will be saved.

After opening the whole structure you can see the different levels of the Business Process Reporting model.
The highest unit is the scenario, in your case for example campaign Management. This scenario consists of various processes,
like Marketing Planning and Budgeting, Campaign Development in CRM and so forth. The processes on their part are made
up of several process steps, the smallest unit in the structure model.

Additionally, corresponding Master Data and Organizational Units can be maintained, following the same instruction with the
initial point on the according structure element.

If your scenarios are not absolutely concordant with the standard scenarios you can easily modify them. The SAP
Solution Manager enables you to select the predefined scenarios, but also gives you the flexibility to suit them to your individual needs.

For instance if you plan to modify the process Marketing Planning and Budgeting, just select this structure item and choose the structure
tab on the right screen side. Here you can delete process steps, add other ones or change their order via the arrow buttons.
Please do not forget to save your changes.

You will find all the information assigned to the structure elements on the right side of the screen under the different tabs.
The assignment of documentation templates on the documentation tabs is possible. There are two tabs, one for general documentation, the other one for project relevant documentation.
To display the documents, e.g. the process documentation for the process Marketing Planning and Budgeting, select an entry and press the display button.

Now the document will all the relevant information about the process is displayed. Of course you can copy documents
from the General Documentation tab to the project specific documentation tab.

You can use the project Documentation tab to create, add, display or delete specific project documentation on individual structure items for your implementation project.
The documents are saved in the Knowledge Warehouse and are available to you when working with the SAP Solution Manager.

You define the project Documentation Types, which you can use here, in the project Administration. You can access the Project Administration via transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN.
Templates for the different document types are delivered with the Solution Manager.

You can either create a new document, link to an existing one, copy a Solution Manager document, upload a file from
your hard drive or maintain a web link.

To add new documents press the appropriate button in the toolbar, choose a document type and a name.

You can use the Administration tab to enter current project data for each structure item in the project structure. This covers the status, plan and actual data and the assignment of team members responsible for this item.

This maintained data also enables the project manager to control the project progress running the different predefined
reports that are supported by the SAP Solution Manager.

On the Transaction tab the transaction for the selected process are maintained. You can directly execute the transaction in the assigned system.

All the transaction, that are used in your project can be displayed.

Choose “Transactions” from the menu.

If the Help Desk scenario is configured, you can create and display messages on the Messages tab.
You create a message if you come across errors in the project documentation, configuration, or processing of test cases
in the Business Blueprint or Configuration transaction.
The messages are all stored and processed in one system. Both the SAP Solution Manager and the Support Line
Feedback have access to this system. You can process messages for which you are the processor in the Message Handling transaction.

Finally, on the Graphic tab you can display the selected processes in so- called Component Views.You have also the
possibility to build your own processes or change existing processes by using the graphic tool.

By selecting or deselecting scenarios, processes or process steps in the structure on the left side you can determine
which elements are passed to the next phase, the Realization.

Now, after you’ve maintained all relevant data, you can generate the Business Blueprint document.

Please click on the entry Business Blueprint in the menu bar.

You can create the Business Blueprint Online and save it to your drive.

Choose “Generate Blueprint Document…” From the menu.

You have several options to select and deselect content when generating the Business Blueprint.

Once you have created your Business Blueprint (project structure, project documentation, and other assignments),
you can print the Business Blueprint document out for approval or further use.

After generation of the business blueprint the following screen appears.

You have finished the Business Blueprint phase. To go ahead with the Realization go back to the SAP menu.

In this project phase, settings are made and tested for the processes selected in the Business Blueprint phase.

Please double-click the transaction SOLAR02 to start the Realization phase.

The entry screen of the Realization phase looks similar to the Business Blueprint transaction. The scenario structure you
selected in the scope is taken over from the previous transaction.

Please notice the new entry “Configuration” in the structure tree under your project name. From here you can select
individual parts of the maintained configuration structure content that are required to configure your scenarios.

Choose the entry Configuration and then the Structure tab. Click “Change Configuration Structure”.

In the next steps you select the configuration structure. With this selection you define the scenario and press
independent configuration relevant for the scenario will be highlight.

In the new popup, the Input Help for Business Process Repository, please select mySAP CRM.

Confirm your selection by clicking the button with the green check in the lower part of the popup.

The Configuration Structure is proposed by the system according to the Blueprint (scenario filter). You can adapt it
to your project requirements by deselecting and adding content.
The detailed configuration information for individual processes and scenarios is directly assigned to these structure items
that you selected in the Business Blueprint phase.

If you recalculate the scope of the selected configuration structure, the current selection of relevant sub trees is reset to
the SAP default value. The previous selection cannot be recovered. The default value. The previous selection cannot be recovered.
The default is derived from the industry and scenario attributes in the Business Process Reporting, the industries selected in the Project
Administration, and the scenarios in the project.

After a refresh you can see now that the relevant Configuration Structure remains on the left side. When you expand the
whole structure you will find detailed information to configure your scenarios.

The maintained Configuration Content is accessible via the Configuration tab.

You will find documentation that explains in detail how to carry out the individual settings. Then there are IMG objects
that lead you directly per RFC Configuration to the satellite systems where the customizing can be done. Additionally the
main transactions involved in the configuration are maintained.

The project members can directly access the satellite systems and the SAP Solution Managers acts as single
point of access where all the information is bundled.

After customizing this step you would go back to the SAP Solution Manager with the back button.

This access to the satellite system is also possible for the maintained transactions. The progress in the Configuration can also
be maintained by the project members.

There are two additional tabs in the Realization phase where project specific data can maintained.

On the Development tab assign different types of individual development information that is required in your project.

For the CRM scenarios and processes several CRM test cases are delivered with the Solution Manager.

On the Test Case tab you can directly maintain additional test cases with different test case types.

These assignments are passed through to the testing transaction. There the test coordinator will be able to organize the
testing according to the scenarios and processes in the project scope.

To organize the testing, you as test coordinator will choose the test plan Management transaction.

The whole organization consists of four steps. First of all you create a test plan with all the maintained test cases. Then you divide this test plan in several test packages before you assign them to the individual testers. Finally when the test is done you can monitor the overall status with a reporting tool.

Double click the transaction STWB_2.

In the entry screen of the Test Organizer you create a new test plan by pressing the appropriate button in the toolbar.
After choosing your project, you have to enter a test plan name.

In the new test plan you get an overview of your selected structure with all the test cases assigned to your scenarios.
You can determine the sections you want to include in your test plan.

Now you have to split this test plan into different test packages. These test packages can be maintained individually.

After selecting your test plan please click the Test Package button in the toolbar to continue.

Once more you get an overview of the project structure. But now only the test cases assigned to the test plan are in scope.

Select some of them and generate your test package via the appropriate button in the toolbar.

To finish the test preparation you have to assign testers to your individual test packages. In this example the test plan is divided into three different test packages.

To assign a user to a test package just click the appropriate button in the toolbar and enter the user.

The testers can access their assigned test packages in the SAP menu via transaction STWB_WORK.

To monitor the test coverage the best coordinator would enter the reporting transaction SOLAR_EVAL.
