Split the Delivery Based On Storage Location

Updated May 18, 2018

Dear Experts,

Now I would like to ask if it is possible after we create sales order contains many products stored in many different storage locations to facilitate the work for store keepers as each product stored in storage location far away from the others , so when storage locations will be as shipping points, we could make deliveries on the storage locations

Thanks for cooperation in advance.

Normally, deliveries does not get splitted on the basis of storage location. I think based upon business requirements, it is possible as Delivery split can take place on the basis of "Warehouse number"
If the picking process or the putaway process require that only one warehouse number has been assigned to a delivery, you can achieve via the delivery split according to warehouse number that the deliveries are created for single warehouse. With a delivery for single warehouse, the storage locations of all delivery items must refer to the same warehouse number, or they may not belong to any warehouse number.
In Customizing (Logistics Execution -> Shipping -> Deliveries -> Delivery Split by Warehouse Number), you can set whether a delivery must be for single warehouse. The respective setting per delivery type and per warehouse number is the prerequisite for the automatic creation of deliveries for single warehouse. Both settings are necessary.

If the Warehouse numbers are different for different items, then Delivery split should take place and for that activate the "Delivery split-WhNo" field in the Delivery Type (OVLK).

If the Storage locations are different for the Items then different Warehouses will de determined for the Items.

This is controlled from the assignment of "Plant+Storage location to Warehouse Number".

So,if you want that Delivery should split if the Storage locations are different then activate the field as mentioned above.

I didn't fully understand the issue, but why don't you assign the appropriate storage location on every line/item of the sales order?

What about zone picking? Isn't that the easiest way?

You can split the deliveries based on different storage location with the help of program change.

    Dear Experts,
We require to Split the Delivery Based On Storage Location, as each product is stored in the Storage Location far from other products and there are three or four storekeepers, each one is responsible for only one store location, it is urgent to split the delivery based on the actual storage location not on the plant.

We configured "assign picking locations" to assign storage location to specify shipping point. And use different shipping point to split delivery.

But this choice brings a problem. When you release those sales order with this configuration, the ATP check is not triggered.

I would seriously doubt determining a different shipping point will have affected ATP. What do you mean by release those sales orders though? Do you mean release from credit block, or just create the delivery (i.e. release to logistics)?

Presume you haven't changed any of your item category determination at the same time as making this change?

Delivery splits happen based on country, shipping point, storage location
    and plant.

If I am wrong please guide me.

ATP cannot effect at shipping point level in this scenario---normally done at plant level. Also delivery split can happen based on shipping point and delivery date and ship to party. Here in this given situation delivery split can be done by assigning the different warehouse to your plant and storage location combination at IMG---Enterprise structure----Assignment----Material management.

Also we can see that this particular warehouse can split the delivery or not on IMG---LE---Shipping---Deliveries---Delivery split---warehouse.

    Hope it helps you
