I am 54 years old, based in Europe and have just lost my job. For over 30 years I have worked with various airlines and trade bodies (all over the world) in various roles of increasing importance in the area of airfreight/freight forwarding. I have lead small teams (2-4 persons) but generally have worked pretty much on my own mostly in policy making.
I have been a full time trainer at various times in my career, the duration totalling to about 7 years. I havea BSc from Mumbai university and an executive MBA from a UK university.
Taking stock several times of what I have done so far I have always felt that HR would have been the most perfect fit for me considering my interest and my natural inclination.
I am a totally non-technical person but have worked with developers for creating business applications for my areas of expertise. I am also considering acquring the PMP certification.
Considering all this, do you think becoming an SAP HR Consultant could be a realistic option for me? If yes, what could I hope for in terms of my job prospects especially in Europe? I would be willing to come to India to get SAP certified, however, would I be able to handle the training considering I do not have any IT/technical background?
Any thoughts/suggestions you can offer would be most gratefully accepted. Many thanks in advance.
