Job Description: Infrastructure Automation Engineer (Unix Admin)
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
SAP PI Technologies Engineering Services team is an SAP internal provider of standard development services and processes, required to efficiently develop and ship wide range of SAP Products. Our strategy is to offer services to development areas for enabling them to produce and to ship software products in a standard-compliant way. By consuming our standard offerings, development teams can concentrate on product development instead of investing resources on a custom production process. Infrastructure Management & provisioning is part of PI technology Engineering Services team providing infrastructure service to many developments & QA teams with in SAP across board area. As a developer you will maintain Windows & Linux based platforms and services hosted and provided through Virtual infrastructure or Cloud Foundry. As a Infrastructure automation administrator, candidate is responsible for configuration, design, maintenance, monitoring, and support the current infrastructure team with needed automation.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Engineering Bachelor in computer science/IT/ E&C Certification in Linux System Administration (SUSE CLA/ RHCE/RHCSA) Certification in Windows System Administration (MCSE) Knowledge to design and maintain Linux System with strong skills in Administration & Storage Management with NetAPP & basic Networking services. Scripting knowledge to automate tasks and processes using any of the Scripting language Exposer to Cloud infrastructure application support & deployment. Excellent customer service and time management skills Excellent analytical skills, Good in communication both written & oral, Result-Driven, Should be flexible and capable of multitasking, good team player.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Administration & Support of Infrastructure systems running Windows & Linux. Build and run scripts to manage/automate tasks related to Cloud/VMWare using CHEF on Windows & Linux platforms Installations of new software and system upgrades including evaluation and installation of OS & application patches on both windows & Linux Debug & Resolve issues from VM/Cloud Infrastructure & also issues reported on Windows & Linux OS level Support Cloud Foundry infrastructure. Responsibility also includes managing Service Level Agreements, documentation, and policy/procedure compliance for SAP IT systems related to Virtualized environments. Desire to work in 24/7 support in shifts.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Infrastructure management on Windows & Linux System administration
Experience in VMVare technologies.
Experience in Scripting language like Perl, Shell, Python & Ruby. Experience in storage management.
Experience in any Backup solution & Storage solution is desirable.
Good to have exposer in Cloud Foundry concepts
