Severity in SAP

This SAP PPM (Portfolio and Project Management) tutorial explains to the Stechies users the step-by-step procedure to define the Severity of threshold value in their SAP PPM system with proper screenshots and processes.

What is the Severity in SAP?

An SAP Severity is an important part of any trace message in SAP PPM. It denotes the level of importance or relevance of a certain message. Traces can be restricted to certain severity levels, that is, only data of a defined severity is generated and collected. A severity level threshold defines this restriction.

How to Define Severity of Threshold Value in SAP?

Please follow the steps below to define a severity for threshold value in your SAP system:

Enter t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and Execute it.

Now on Customizing: Execute Project screen click the SAP Reference IMG button to proceed.

Next, navigate to the following SAP IMG path:

SAP Portfolio and Project Management > Evaluations > Define Severity

On the Change View "Threshold Value": Overview screen, you will get the list of previously defined Threshold values in your SAP system.

Next click on the New Entries button to define the Severity for Threshold Values in your SAP system.

Now, provide the following details about the configuration of severity for threshold values according to your requirement as shown in the image below:

Next, once all details are entered click the Save button to save the newconfiguration.

Save

Next, select your Customization Request id and press Enter to proceed.

A message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.

You have successfully defined a severity for threshold value in your SAP PPM system.
