How to Create Non Clustered Index Separately?
Stechies

Hello Experts,

I have created an non clustered index with index key columns as 1,2,3 fields of a table, but when i searched for the missing indexes, sql suggested me to add an index on the 2 column again. When i already added this field to that index i created why did i see this index to create separately?

If the existed index starting with the fields being searched the index with the "extra" fields would be used? is this right? Why did i see this suggestion?

Suggested index acts as a covering index. SQL Server doesn't have to hit the base table every time, So suggested index provides all the data it needs to satisfy the query.
