Define Business Blueprint SAP Solution Manager 3.1


Back to the Solution Manager Tutorial. Before we enter the second module of the course,

let me direct you to the step descriptions in the bottom right corner for additional or more specific information on each individual step.

Course Overview
We have reached the second module of the Solution Manager Tutorial: the “Define Business Blueprint” phase. To start the tutorial, press Enter.

 

 

SAP Easy Access
To start the transaction, double click on “Business Blueprint”. If you require more information on the Define Blueprint transaction, read the step description in the bottom right corner.

The title bar tells you which project has been loaded. You can switch projects with the “Other Project” button, highlighted by the red box. To continue, expand the “Business Scenarios” folder by clicking in the blue box.

Click on the scenario node “Vendor Managed Inventory”.

The “Documentation Gen”. tab gives you an overview of the generic SAP documentation available for your selected  scenario, process or process step.

Choose “Settings” and “User Specifics” in the main menu. Here you define user specific settings for the visibility of tabs, display and save mode of your documentation. We recommend to set “Save Automatically” and a separate window for maintaining and displaying documentation. Continue with “Cancel”.

To start creating your own project structure, select “Business Scenarios” and choose the “Structure” tab on the right, which I’ve already done for you. To add a new business scenario, mark an empty row (red box) in the table, enter the business scenario “Train00” in the designated cell and press Enter to continue.

Save the process entered for demonstration purposes.

To see the new business scenario with its automatically generated substructure, I’ve expanded the structure. To add business processes click on the node “Business Processes”.

To define a new business process, type “Training Process_01_00” in the “Business Process” column on the Structure tab and click on the “Save” icon.

You can access your new business process via the structure. To add process steps delivered by SAP, click on your business process and use the F4 help function to access the Business Process Repository and choose a process step.

Click on the “Transport” button at the bottom of the dialog window to put the selected process steps into your business process.

Set the status of your project using the F4 help function.

Choose the status “In Process”.

The selected business process, use the F4 help function in the left column of the table at the bottom.

Select the name of the project member you want to assign to the process step.

That administrative data, such as status values, can be inherited top down via the “Copy” button. Press Enter to carry on with the tutorial.

Choose the relevant process step or business process in your structure. I have already pressed the “Insert Document” icon for you. Continue with Enter.

Enter the document title “BPP01” in the designated field and press the Tab key to continue.

After having saved your completed document, return to the documentation overview via the “Cancel” button to your right.

You can click on the “Display” icon. Now view additional documentation attributes for the “Process Purchase Requirements”.  Click on the corresponding process step.

Mark one row and scroll down to click on the “Attributes” icon at the bottom of the screen.

Choose “Training Material” as document classification

I have chosen the status “Released” for your document which will also be visible in the documentation table. Select the History tab to see the history of changes made to the document.

The “History” tab provides information on the latest changes made to the document. Press Enter to continue with the tutorial.

On the “Problem messages” tab you can create and assign problem messages. Mark one row in the table and click on the “Create” icon at the bottom of the screen.

Select the “Development Request” from the F4 drop down menu.

To set a priority level, use F4 in the Priority field.

Choose “High” as notification priority and confirm.

In the “Agents” field you can define the person responsible for the problem. Click on the F4 button to proceed.

Choose a name from the list and click on “Copy”.

Enter a short text and press Enter to confirm.

Enter a long text in the space provided on the Message tab and click on the “Create notification” icon at the bottom of the window to confirm.

Add additional text or reply to the message, on the “Subject” tab, click on the “New Text” button and select “Internal note”.

There will appear a new text field entitled “Internal Note”. Where you can enter an additional notification. Press Save to continue.

Choose “Business Blueprint – Blueprint Document – Create Online”.

Continue with the selections I have made and proceed with the “Scope” tab.

Keep in mind that every restriction will reduce generation load and, thus, increase performance. Continue with the “Options” tab.

Select the print options which determine how comprehensive your Business Blueprint document will be. Now start the generation of your Business Blueprint document confirming your selection.
