Define Task Type in SAP

What is Task Type in SAP?

Task types in SAP PPM are custom task that is used by SAP users to attribute and categorize the various tasks in a meaningful order.

How to Define Task Type in SAP?

Please follow the steps below to define task type in your SAP system:

Execute t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and execute it.

On the next screen click the SAP Reference IMG button to proceed to the next screen.

Now navigate to the following SAP IMG path:

SAP Portfolio and Project Management > Projrct Management > Structure > Define Task Types

Next on the Change View "Task Type: Overview screen you will see a list of previously defined Task Types on your SAP system.

Next, click the New Entries button to define the configurations for the new Task Type.

Next, enter the following details to configure the new Salutation as shown below in the image:

  • Task Type: Enter the unique alpha-numeric code that identifies the new Task Type
  • Short Text for Type:  Enter the short text for the new task type
  • Active: Tick the Active checkbox

Once all the details have been entered click the Save button to save the new configuration of the Task type.

Save

Now select your Customization Request id and press Enter to go to the next screen.

Next, a message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.

You have successfully defined a new Task Type in your SAP system.
