Depends on how you code it. If you use the REUSE_ALV_GRID_ DISPLAY , you will need to build the top of page and end of page in the events, but otherwise it'll work.

I think it will be better if you use just write command in slace of grid or lis display

No, you can't run ALV report in background by using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY. if you want to execute in background, you need to use ALV factory classes concepts.
