Not enough memory - problem

Updated May 18, 2018

On Googling, I found a lot of people got this a few years ago, but not really recently. Anyway, we installed new hardware (w/ lots of memory) and now see this message about 4 times a week.

I've installed the latest GuiXT (currently 2012 Q1 V3) and the latest SapGui (7.20 patch 10) but still get the error. I've tried different combinations of earlier versions (randomly) but still see it. I'm thinking of going to an much earlier version, but those all had various issues too.

The exact error is "Not enough memory - please increase virtual memory" w/ a title like "get memory: length=2123776 file=C:Sourcegrlib.." On Windows 7.

Thanks for any help

we did not see this problem since a longer time. Since you already have tried various GuiXT and SAP GUI versions, it seems to be a very special situation either caused by something in the script (loop?) or in the screen.

For further analysis, I sugggest you generate a trace file as follows:

On one of the PCs where you can duplicate the problem, put the statements

    Trace Yes
    Tracefile C: empguixttrace.&time.txt

into you guixt.ini file, where C: emp can be any local folder.

When you start SAP GUI the next time, GuiXT will generate small trace files, due to the &time in the trace file name, which are easier to handle than one very big one, e.g.

    C: empguixt.trace.09.15.txt
    C: empguixt.trace.09.16.txt
    C: empguixt.trace.09.17.txt
    ...

When the error occurs, save the 2 last trace files and send them to support@synactive.net (Americas) or support@synactive.com (Europe) for further analysis.
