hello SAP User friends,I want to know that can I apply index on sal column with duplicates?Please help me in finding the solution for it.

YES YOU CAN APPLY "SIMPLE INDEX" ON THAT COLUMN.
Possible to create a nonunique index.
Yes. Index is used to make each row as unique itself, even most of the rows is duplicate also.
We can create index and it would improve performance as well if we use sal column in where clause. Indexes are unique and nonunique. If we use indexed columns in where clause to filter data on that columns then index will be useful.
You can create index for any column. Before creating index make sure that how many rows it has otherwise there is no point in creating index
yeah! It has to be non-unique. Although,unique indexes allows duplicate null.
