Yes. This is possible.
Proceed as follows for this:
a) Choose the "Database Connections" function on the initial screen of transaction DBACOCKPIT.
b) If there is still no database connection with the name of the SID of the SAP system, choose "Add".
If a database connection with the name of the SID of the SAP system already exists, select it in the list and choose "Change".
Here, make the following entries:
- Connection name: The SID of the SAP system
- Database system: SAP HANA database
- User name: Your own DB user
- Password: Enter the password of this DB user twice.
- Database Host: the host on which the database is installed
(Important: Enter the host name in exactly the same way as it is displayed through "System -> Status"; that is, use the same upper and lower case, the same prefix, and so on).
- SQL port: 3xx15
xx = the HANA instance ID (to view the instance ID, choose "System -> Status". )
Alternatively, you can also execute this action using transaction DBCO. When you do this, ensure that the database host and the SQL port are entered in the "Verb.Info" field in the format <host>:<port>.
