DB ERROR 'Session has been reconnected' during HANA DMO Migration

Hello SAP Experts,

While DMO migration MAIN_SHDIMP / SUBMOD_MIG_UPTIME_RUN / EU_CLONE_MIG_UT_CREATE buckets are failing with error as shown below:

MIGRATE_UT_CREATE_#####_IMP.LOG

  • (HDB) ERROR:  DbSlExecute: rc = 99
  • (HDB) ERROR: dbcode = -10108
  • (DB) ERROR: Session has been reconnected.
  • (HDB) ERROR: DDL statement failed <Statement>

This error can be re-generated in DMO upgrade phase : SUBMOD_MIG_UPTIME_RUN/EU_CLONE_MIG_UT_CREATE.

    The error you are facing is caused due to interrupted network connection or poor network performance.

    In order to resolve this issue please refer SAP document 500235 - Network Diagnosis with NIPING.

    In order to measure the network metrics please follow the steps below:

    • Long LAN stability test
    • Short throughput/stability test'

    Below is an example screenshot of NIPING test.

     

    As shown in the screenshot above there is a significant variation between the max and min.
