Does the sapstart.log contain the following entry?

    unknown SAPSYSTEMNAME. (7093) Exiting with Return-Code -101. (Unknown Sap-System-Name)
When you try to run hdblcm again as the root user, the message "The following actions cannot be selected because the tool was not started as root user" is displayed.

Please follow the following step to resolve this problem:

    • Check the profile files
    • go to <hana shared>/<sid>/SYS/profile and list the files. There should be a file "<SID>_HDB<INST>_<HOSTNAME>". The SID is not correct.
    • Rename the file to the correct SID.
    • Modify the contents to reflect the correct SID
    • Check the installation configuration
    • Go into <hana shared>/<sid>/global/hdb/install/support and modify the cfg file
    • Make sure that sapsys_groupid, sidadm_home and sidadm_id are correct. In this case, it was not correct.
    • Make the appropriate changes and then save the file
    • Now Start HANA
    • Restart your shell and then run ./HDB start. I think it will work now.

    Hey,

if there are no trace files created with the extension after running the HDB start then I think the issue erupted because the HANA system is left in an inconsistent state after the renaming process got failed.
