I seem to be getting an error when Windows XP Home Edition starts. The error reads "Cannot find resource File". I have tried everything under the sun to resolve this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Does the desktop load or does it fail with this error? If it does not load, can you boot into Safe Mode F8?
Desktop loads fine...its just an annoyance. love to get rid of itThankfully Yours,
This may be something that loads at startup. It could be something you recently installed and then uninstalled but the uninstaller didn't remove it from startup. So whatever the program is relying on it can't find it any longer.
Ok, If the Desktop loads fine then this is the remnant of a program that cannot load any more. It could have been a virus and the executable was removed by your AV software. It could be a program that failed either install properly or (most likely) one that did not do a clean uninstall.
Would system restore easily solve the problem?
Program was updated and the path was changed. Old path was still trying to be accessed. In other words i was being run twice. Thanks for all your help! .
