Important SAP Keyboard Shortcuts List

Updated Jan 23, 2021

SAP Button

Instead of an SAP icon button, you can use a keyboard shortcut. A keyboard shortcut is a key or combination of keys that you can use to access icon button functions while you are working in SAP. On a PC, the icon name and keyboard shortcut are displayed when you place the mouse over the icon.

Note: Keyboard shortcuts may be different for the same icon depending upon the SAP screen you are in.

MAC Note: The Mac does not display keyboard shortcuts, but the keys function the same as on a PC. On some Macintosh computers, when you try to use the Function keys, a dialogue box may appear saying that your Function keys need to be set up in SAP. To enable your Function keys, check the option not to display this message again.

Would anyone have a shortcut for moving from tab to tab inside SU01 (or any other multi-tab environment)? The information above has been very helpful, especially the Cntrl-/ for moving back to the transaction box. Please accept my appreciation in advance for any suggestions on my question.

I just found the answer to my own question, at least in part. The arrows function just fine to move from tab to tab, but one must first have the cursor on a tab, rather than in a field which is the normal default at the start of a transaction. I found that I could move to the Address tab from the first name field by using Shift+Tab and then, from that point, I was able to use the right and left arrows to move from tab to tab. Thank you anyway. I hope this helps someone else.

    Hello all,
    A new hint and a question :
Hint : To select a text that you cannot highlight, use CTRL + Y ; the cursor is changed to a cross to indicate the zone to select then use CTRL + C to copty and finally Control + V to paste (works on several fields or lines at a time)

now my question : is there a keyboard shortcut that allows / disallow to select by highlighting ? a colleague of mine can no longer highlight anything on his PC but not on mine ...
Thanks in advance for any advice !

I have my answer so I share it : if you use Alt-F12 (Customizing of local layout) and activate "Quick Cut and Paste", you can no longer highlight but by just selecting the text you in fact select and copy (without highlighting it), all you have to do then is then paste by using CTRL + V.

I've got one :) I appreciate your Keyboard shortcut page. I'd like to share one I've found. I'm in the oil business and jump in and out of various tasks, with details in the text module. I was struggling to get out of text editing and back up to the main menu. CtrlF11 didn't do it. What works is Ctrl+Alt+F7. It gets you up into the field next to the "green check ball" then its just 1 tab click to Back (F3) ball. Hope this is of interest.

does anyone have a shortcut for those places where you are expected to double-click a line or field?
  • 12 Jan 2009 2:11 pm Guest
I'm looking for a key stroke that allows copy and paste on an SAP screen. Sometimes you can only click on a value, but you cannot highlight the entire value to copy it with Control-C.

Hi, I am not a SAP specialist, I am just a user of SAP. I am working on SAP Healthcare in a hospital setting. My work is with patient records. I have a problem. Everytime I need to find a word from the old files, I have to open each and every file and then search for the desired word. Is there any short cut or process through which I can find the word I am looking for in the list without actually opening all the files, just like we find words or files in MS Word.

Thank you all in advance. It would save me a great amount of time if I have this problem solved.
