Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts!

Hi,

I installed IDES ECC6.0 Ehp7. logged in client 800 with user name - id admin & password ides, it works fine. Next time I login wrongly many times. it shows Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts. I think client 800 locked. 

Help me unlock client 800.

SOLUTION

The above error you mentioned occurs when you try to login many attempts with the wrong password. ie. the user is locked by the system.

Please follow the step below to unlock and reset your password(Only for Administrator).

1. First, you need to check the status of the user from Transaction code "SU01 - User Maintenance".

  • If in case "Password logon not possible (too many incorrect attempts)" message occurs. This means the user is locked!! Therefore need to unlock this user.

2. The second step is to unlock user

  • In the "User Maintainance Initial Screen" screen, you need to enter the username that you want to unlock. Then, press button Lock/Unlock or Ctrl + F5.
  • Now the system will give a pop-up message in order to show you that user is locked due to incorrect logons. The message may vary depending on the reason of user locked. 
  • In the popup screen, you have to click the "unlock button". Once the user get unlocked the error message in SU01 will disappear.

3. Reset Password

  • The administrator can reset the password from SU21 by entering the initial password. After this when the locked user login into the system, the system will ask him to set a new password.

    Hi ,

    I got the answer. In USR02  table i changed the UFLAG value to 0 from 128 for MANDT value 800. user unlocked.
