We just bought a new panasonic tv. When I use the HDMI in jack on the tv from the hdmi out jack on my laptop I get both video and audio. However, when I connect my audio out (headphone jack) to my dvd player (which is connected to both the tv and my receiver) I get better sound.
That works fine in some situations, however, when I play an avi file using Real Audio or Kantaris the audio no longer comes through the connection from my headphone jack and the only sound I get is from the tv.
My tv does not have an rca output (only a digital output) and my receiver does not have a digital input only an rca input.
Is there something I can do to keep the audio signal from my headphone jack from being cut off when watching avi files?
