SU01: User group for authorization check

Hi Gurus,

As we all know a user gets authrorizations by having roles assigned. In transaction SU01, in the Logon tab, there is a field "User group for authorization check". Can you please let me know what this is for?

This User Group is used to identify the user i.e., for which module he is working, etc.,

To see the total user groups:
From the SU01 inital screen goto Environment --> User Groups -->
Display --> Press F4. Then you will find out the different user groups.

Yup, The main aim of user group is to make user administration easy.....Imagine if the server has 10000 users...?!
