In this SAP FICO tutorial, you will learn the step-by-step procedure to activate the inactive master data (cost centers, business processes, or profit centers) from your SAP.
Pre-requirements
The SAP users have already selected cost centers, business processes, or profit centers (for example, in the maintenance screen for the enterprise organization).
What is Inactive Master Data?
A master record can be active and/or inactive. Therefore there are active/inactive master record versions for cost centers, business processes and profit centers .
How to Activate Inactive Master Data?
Please follow the steps below to activate the inactive master data:
Enter the t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and press enter on your keyword to Execute it
Next click on the SAP Reference IMG button as shown in the image below:
Now go to the following SAP IMG navigation path mentioned below:
Next on the Select Activity popup select the activity between the following options:
- Activate Cost Centers
- Activate Profit Centers
Next on the Cost Centers Activate screen select the cost center, the user can choose between
- Cost Center
- Cost Center Group
- All Cost Centers
Now click the Activate button as shown in the image below:
You will get the message Cost Center Activated at the bottom of your screens.
Click the Profit Centers or Business Process button to activate these master data.
