Master Data is standard and used for a long time period to run the organisation successfully.
As in Definition: Master Data are the critical nouns of a business which are used for a long time period.
It fall generally into four groupings:
Further classifications within those groupings are called subjected areas, domain areas or entity types. I am explaining it herewith examples: people: customers, employee, vendors and share holders etc.. things: product, part, store and assets etc.. concepts: contract, warranty, licenses and patents etc.. places: office locations and geographic divisions etc.. again these domain areas may divided further as per the business process like customer- further segmented based on incentives and history. it mean that every organisation may have normal customers, premier and executive customers. hope its useful.
